Bookkeeping that keeps your business honest with itself
Accurate, current records for small businesses — recorded consistently, reconciled monthly, and ready when your tax preparer asks for them.
What a bookkeeper actually does
A bookkeeper records what your business earns and spends, keeps those records reconciled against your bank, and produces reports that show where the business actually stands.
It is not glamorous work, and that is rather the point. Books fall behind quietly — a few uncategorized months, a reconciliation nobody finished — and the cost shows up later, usually in a rush, usually at tax time.
Kept current, the books stop being a source of dread and start being something you can actually use to make decisions.
A bookkeeper is not a CPA. KR Notary & Bookkeeping records and organizes your financial information. It does not prepare or file tax returns, provide tax advice, or perform audits. Here is the full scope.

Bookkeeping services offered
Income & Expenses
Day-to-day activity recorded and categorized consistently, so the books reflect what actually happened rather than what someone remembered three months later.
Bank & Credit Card Reconciliation
Accounts reconciled against your statements each month, so the balances in your books match the balances at your bank. This is where most errors surface, and where most businesses stop keeping up.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
A clear picture of what you owe and what you are owed, so unpaid invoices get noticed while they are still worth chasing.
Monthly Financial Reports
A profit and loss statement and a balance sheet each month, in plain terms. Reports are prepared for your internal use — they are not audited or reviewed financial statements.
Catch-Up & Cleanup Work
Behind on the books? Prior periods are reviewed, corrected, and brought current. Scope and cost are confirmed after a look at what already exists — no estimate before then, because the honest answer depends on what is there.
Year-End Preparation
Records organized and delivered to your tax preparer or CPA, so filing season is a handoff instead of a scramble. KR Notary & Bookkeeping does not prepare or file the return itself.
From first conversation to monthly rhythm
Bookkeeping works best as a routine rather than a rescue. The first month sets it up; every month after that is maintenance.
Review
A look at your business, your current records, and how far behind things are — if at all.
Scope and agree
You get a clear description of what will be done, how often, and what it costs, before any work starts.
Set up
Access to the necessary accounts and documents is arranged, and the chart of accounts is organized to fit how your business actually operates.
Monthly work
Activity is recorded and categorized, accounts are reconciled, and questions come to you in one batch rather than one at a time.
Reports and handoff
Monthly reports are delivered, and at year end your records go to your tax preparer organized and complete.
What bookkeeping is not
Being direct about scope is part of being dependable. Bookkeeping is recordkeeping, and it stops where licensed work begins.
Not a CPA firm
KR Notary & Bookkeeping is not a certified public accounting firm and does not hold itself out as one.
Not tax preparation
Tax returns are not prepared or filed here, and no tax advice is given. Your records are organized so your tax professional can do that work.
Not audit or assurance
No audits, reviews, or compilations. Reports are for your internal use.
Not financial advice
No investment, financial planning, or business advisory services. The books tell you where things stand; what to do next is your call.
Behind on your books? Start with a conversation.
Tell us what kind of business you run and roughly where the records stand. You will get an honest answer about what it would take to bring things current — before any commitment.
